Flowerbuds 'twixt cloven hooves
Whisper, whisper, flight
Bunny's breath smells sweet
Oh nestle close, my darling
Downy fur and peace
All slow connections

Nuzzles and laughter
Sweet, sparkling paternal tears
Pure, innocent love
Big arms full of warmth
Little girl leaps in with joy

Tall hill full of grass
Isolated all around
So green and so blue
Thick square yellow cake
Covered with rich pink icing

Hugging your tummy
Oh, does that make you giggle?

Blue and black night sky
With swirling constellations
So far, so endless
Wishing you were here

Wraps his bairn in tartan cloth
Burr-laced lullabies
Too many gray shades
Please take me to a place where
Fairy tales are real
Drinking, sleeping bees
Curled inside lilac blossoms
Fuzzy, yellow smiles
Squishy manatee
Big, round belly of teal-gray
Tiny, friendly eyes
Green bean casserole
Smother it with French onions
Water chestnut crunch
Bookshelf in my room
How many words do you hold?
Pages and pages
Are elves tall and fair
Or are they bearded and fat
And tiny wee men?
Branch in the big pond
Wriggles and shows its snake-head
Run away screaming
Trucks on the highway
Rolling through the wind at night

Just some haikus I wrote during the past month, mainly while waiting for the seminars to begin at the college conference I attended.
I like these little poems.
They're very easy and personal to write. Haikus are a great way to be creative when I'm tired and don't feel like doing much except simple words.

Ooh, how very beautiful and meaningful! The poems regarding the deer, bees and bunny are very lovely and sweet, those regarding the pretty night sky and the trucks driving at night are very pretty and atmospheric, and the one regarding the big, cuddly manatee was darling! (I would give him a great big hug.)
