You Were Never Alone

I drew this partially a gift for , because she's made me some wonderful little surprise gifts in the past (I still love that Pusheen Scotty ), and is also just a nice person regardless, and I thought she might need a little smile lately. And I also drew it because I thought Kirk and Spock needed a little time in my gallery again, and this is based on one of my very favorite scenes of theirs, from The Final Frontier (movie V). When Kirk thanks Spock for saving his life and says he thought he was going to die, Spock replies kindly, "Impossible, Captain--you were never alone." Then Kirk, almost crying, starts to hug him, but Spock quietly reminds him, "Captain--not in front of the Klingons." I don't "ship" Kirk and Spock in my own world the way Aloi often does in hers, but I definitely do see them as having a deep and lasting bond of brotherly love. And I always like to imagine that, after making it back to the Enterprise and away from the Klingons, Kirk pulled Spock aside and gave him that big hug he'd originally planned.

(PS: Don't worry, guys, I will have another pic of Scotty and Orin and be back to my challenges soon, I promise! Though before or after the Federation Day group pic I'm not sure, since of course I need to be focusing on it first and foremost.)
